not my regular comic, but i was asked to do an illustration to be featured on a website and they never ended up posting it. so i decided to.
This is the storyboard I included as part of my portfolio for calarts (edited slightly with photoshop). I decided to upload it for feedback, since this is the first storyboard I’ve ever done and I’m curious how strong the idea was, and if I was clear enough. I’ve never been able to write short, so it ended up being pretty long. I’m going to break it down into parts.
and for those confused here is a question i answered about the story.
i was inspired by m83’s moody music video for midnight city featuring some kids with powers. it reminded me how into x-men i was and how cool mutants with special powers is as a concept. i thought i’d take it as an opportunity to redesign x-men characters if they were moody tweens. i got kind of attached to their could-be stories and created a revamped storyline for them as younger kids. maybe i’ll continue dreaming it up and expand on it.
These are the keywords that helped people find my Etsy today.
I’m totally cool with this.
I feel like Japan is the closest you can get to living in a cartoon. That would explain my lifetime fascination with the culture.
Reblogging because I shouldn’t keep a tumblr that posts the insanity that broadcasts daily in Japan all to myself.

I had this idea, but did not have the skills to make it happen. That’s where Slacktory’s Monica Ekabutr comes in. She did such a great job, I’m having trouble hiding my….excitement. See more at Slacktory.com
I was paid to draw superheroes with boners. This is ‘just the tip’ of my success. Hopefully it will be a lot more entertaining than that pun. Enjoy.

The cat lady in a photo of her proudly posing with her 88-year old cat.
It is said that a lady from the islands wields a magical crystal ball foretelling any individual’s future. She knows yours. But do you want to know it?
Happy new year from the cat lady to you.
The Journey Continues.
